July is a special time for everyone’s favorite summer fruit, the peach!  In the market you will find yellow, freestone peaches daily and our famous “doughnut” peaches are in season right now too.  Pair your peaches with some freshly picked blackberries for special treat.

In addition to our fruit, it is also time for lots of vegetables at Hinton’s Orchard.  Tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers, onions, cabbage, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, and more are available.  Everything is picked fresh daily, so stop in for supper tonight or call us for your canning needs.

Don’t leave the market without trying our own peach ice cream!

Hinton’s is open 7 days per week until Halloween.  Our hours are Monday – Saturday 9 am to 6 pm and Sundays 1 – 6 pm.

Luke Eat Your Vegetables Most people think of a Plant Sale for Mother’s Day but Hinton’s Orchard is honoring Dad’s love of plants this year! Everything in the greenhouse is on sale this Friday, Saturday, and Monday (June 13, 14, & 16).  Vegetable plants are 50% off and all flowers, herbs & hanging baskets are 25% off.  If you are still looking for a gift for Dad, finish filling in the last needs in his yard or garden.  He will be proud that you got a good deal!

Inside the market, lots of fresh garden vegetables are available.  Pick up some squash, zucchini, cucumbers, broccoli, cabbage, and fresh local tomatoes for a meal this weekend!

If you have been anxiously awaiting fresh summer vegetables, you are in luck!  Broccoli, cabbage, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, onions have arrived in the market at Hinton’s.  Plan stir fry, steamed vegetables or a relish tray tonight!squash zucchini

Strawberries are winding down but u pick will be allowed through Saturday, June 13th.  Next up for fruit lovers: blueberries by June 20.

The greenhouse still has a nice selection of hanging baskets, flowers, and herbs.  All vegetable plants are now 20% off.  You will find several tomato varieties as well as some peppers and yellow squash.

It’s Strawberry Season at Hinton’s!

The sweet taste of fresh strawberries is now available at Hinton’s Orchard!  We are picking fresh berries each day and will continue until around June 10.  strawberryOur strawberry pickers will be hard at work Monday – Saturday or you may pick your own berries during regular market hours.

In addition to fresh strawberries, you will find fresh broccoli, a few other vegetables such as squash and cucumbers, fresh baked bread and other goodies in the market.  You can also pick up some strawberry preserves, strawberry salsa, strawberry dressing or strawberry cider to compliment your springtime meal.  Our greenhouse still has plenty of flowers, herbs, vegetable plants, and hanging baskets to choose from as well.

Strawberry Festival

Join us as we once again celebrate spring’s favorite fruit, the strawberry! Bring your family to pick your own berries from our patch, take a hayride, enjoy our play area, and eat some of the tasty strawberry treats from Hinton’s Kitchen including our own strawberry ice cream. Oh, and last but not least participate in our Strawberry Pie Eating Contest!

The market is adding several vegetables to inventory for this weekend.  The greenhouse still has a good selection of flowers and hanging baskets.  Vegetable plants from the greenhouse will be 20% all day Saturday.

Market hours are 9 am – 6 pm with festival activities happening from 10 – 3.  The Strawberry Pie Eating Contest will take place at 1:00 p.m.  Be sure to sign up in our adult or youth division when you arrive at the farm!

Hardin Co. Master Gardener’s Plant Fair – May 17

All the plants you want in one location! Join Hinton’s Orchard and many other local vendors at the 2014 Plant Fair. Hinton’s will have annual and perennial flowers, vegetable plants, hanging baskets, and more.

Visit the Plant Fair at the Hardin County Extension Office (201 Peterson Drive, Elizabethtown) and cross the street to the Hardin County Farmer’s Market for a Saturday full of fresh, local products!  Hinton’s Orchard will be represented on both sides of Peterson Drive, but all food items will be at the Farmer’s Market.

Open for the Season!

Ready for fresh veggies for your next meal? Hinton’s Orchard is open for the 2014 season! The greenhouse is filled with beautiful flowers and healthy vegetable plants to fill your yard or garden and the store has fresh asparagus and baked goods for a great meal. Come restock on all of your favorites from Hinton’s and see our newly remodeled store!

Opening April 17 for the 2014 Season!

Just like the grass and the flowers, when spring arrives Hinton’s Orchard wakes from our winter nap.  The peach trees are beginning to bloom and asparagus is starting to poke up from the ground.

The farm market will open for the season on Thursday, April 17th at 9 a.m.  Fresh cut asparagus will be available as well as all kinds of annual and perennial flowers, hanging baskets, flower pots, vegetable plants and herbs.  Hinton’s Kitchen will also be baking fresh bread and grinding all-natural peanut butter.  If you would like to order fresh bread or specialty cakes for Easter, send an email or call to leave a message at (270) 325-3854 today!

Eat Beef TurkeyAs you are making your plans for a Thanksgiving feast, don’t forget about apples, sweet potatoes, and more from Hinton’s Orchard!  We still have seven varieties of apples to choose from including some apples great for eating, some great for cooking, and some great for anything.  Fresh apple cider will also be available through Thanksgiving.  Hinton’s Kitchen is taking orders for pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies and lots of other treats.
