Jeremy and I spent a while walking on the farm this morning. We have had a mad dash of planting over the past two weeks and then traveled to Georgia for a family wedding over the weekend. Having a few days away from the farm was great to be able to see the growth in all of our new plantings. This is kind of a “in-between” time in our crops as we have finished strawberries but are not yet picking peaches or early apples. Taking the time to notice blooms in the tomatoes, peppers, cantaloupes and watermelons is almost as exciting as harvesting them. It helps to remind us why we grow the things that we do.
Although we are between major fruits right now, we are picking squash, zucchini and a few cucumbers. If you visit the farm market or the LaRue County Farmer’s Market we will also have a few raspberries, lettuce, and baked goods. All plants in the greenhouse are at least 25% off of regular price. Come on out for some fresh produce and good deals on those plants you need for the garden or flower bed.
