Are you open on Sundays?
In 2017, Hinton’s Elizabethtown market is open Sundays from April 23 through October 29. The farm market is open on Sundays from July 1 through October 31. Both markets are closed Sundays in November and December.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Hinton’s Orchard & Farm Market accepts cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
Is ready-to-eat food available?
In addition to our tasty fruits and vegetables, canned drinks and snack foods are available for purchase in both of our markets any day. On festival dates and all weekends in October, Hinton’s Kitchen will be serving a variety of snack and meal options at our farm market.
Can we bring our dog to the farm?
Hinton’s Orchard allows pets on a leash to visit the property with their families. We do not allow pets in the Upick strawberry patches due to food safety regulations. Pets are also not allowed in Hinton’s FarmLand play area or in the corn maze. During festivals and on fall weekends we would advise our guests that the crowds are often not the best environment for pets.
I have a few fruit trees. Can you give me some advice?
We are always happy to talk with customers about their own fruit trees when possible. The University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension also has some great resources for home orchard owners. Check out their Home Orchard Owner’s Guide for growing. Several videos are also available on YouTube for pruning techniques.
What’s a good cooking apple?
Since everyone has different tastes, it is really a personal preference for your favorite eating, cooking or baking apples. However, some varieties are better suited than others for cooking. Here’s a link to our list of apple varieties with recommendations for best uses.
